VN condemns chemical war

HA NOI (VNS)— Viet Nam strongly condemned the use of chemical weapons on civilians and stressed the need to abide by international conventions.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi made the statement during a regular press conference in Ha Noi yesterday, reiterating Viet Nam's persistent and clear stance on the matter.

Viet Nam welcomed the September 14 Russia-US framework agreement on the destruction of Syria's chemical arsenal, the official said, adding that the country hoped the sides concerned would implement the agreement faithfully, helping to solve the ongoing crisis in Syria and bring peace and stability to the Syrian people. — VNS
